The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) primarily focuses on issues related to disarmament, international security, and the prevention of armed conflict. Delegates in this committee address global challenges that threaten peace and security.

UNGA – United Nations General Assembly
Agenda 1: Addressing Unethical Labour Practices in the Global Economy

Peace is not merely the absence of war; it is the presence of justice.
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) serves as the main place for general discussion and decision-making in the United Nations. Member states, each with an equal vote, address global issues which may range from peace and security to climate change and sustainable development.

IAEA – International Atomic Energy Agency
Agenda 1: Promoting the Usage of Nuclear Energy for Sustainable Development
Agenda 2: Upholding Public Communication and Engagement on Nuclear Issues
We need nuclear energy now, and we need it in the future.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an internal organisation within the United Nations. In this council, members are in charge of ensuring the peaceful use of nuclear energy, as well as prevent the use of nuclear weapons in military operations.

Agenda 1: Addressing the Balance Between Online Censorship and Protecting Freedom of Expression on Digital Platforms
Agenda 2: Addressing the Rights and Protection of Refugees in Protracted Crises

The Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) is also commonly referred to as the Third Committee of the United Nations. It is responsible for the protection of human rights and social issues.

HCC – Historical Crisis Committee
Agenda: Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia
Starting Date: August 1968
We will not allow anyone to take away our freedom.
250,000 troops from the Warsaw Pact hold an invasion to suppress Prague Spring reforms, aiming to restore authoritarian rule of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. Crisis delegates represent countries in this fast-paced scenario from the Cold War.

IPC – International Press Corps

The way to right wrongs is to light the truth upon them.
The International Press Corps (IPC) represent a team of news agencies. Press delegates act as journalists in MUN, and are tasked with covering the discussions that occur in other committees – mainly through writing articles, attending press conferences and holding interviews.
